The Labor in Vain is a drinking hole that is as unpretentious as they come. One visit will convince you that this is a place you want to frequent when craving a beverage and some entertainment because that’s exactly what they offer. Their beer on tap, wine, spirits, and cocktails are all good.
It’s a no nonsense pub with a fully stocked bar and live entertainment on the ground floor with a rooftop beer deck up top for those craving some fresh air (or a smoke). Bands tend to get quite loud here so head upstairs if craving calmer surroundings. The deck area is quite nice. There are rich wooden tables, a little bar nook with stools and a grill used during their weekend barbecues.
If you stop by during the week, you can order in from one of the surrounding restaurants and enjoy your time at the pub. The place is very spacious so feel free to bring some friends, eat your food and drink up.
Lastly, The Labor in Vain draws an eclectic crowd which is always refreshing. Nothing sucks more than walking into a place only to receive stares that will push you to drink. There are the older patrons, young hipster types, couples on dates and more so it isn’t overwhelmed by one scene.
The Labor in Vain opened as a Public Bar back in 1998, and has become a favourite drinking-hole with locals and visitors alike. It doesn’t try – or want – to be the trendiest bar on the strip, which is part of it’s charm.
